1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By installing, accessing, or using CodePass ("the Extension"), you accept these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree, do not install or use the Extension.

  • These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and the CodePass developer ("We", "Us")
  • Use of the Extension is also subject to our Privacy Policy
  • We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time

2. SERVICE DESCRIPTION

CodePass is a Chrome browser extension that provides:

  • Local password management with AES-256 encryption
  • Optional synchronization with Google Drive (with your authorization)
  • Secure password generation
  • Encrypted credential storage
  • User interface to manage passwords

IMPORTANT:

  • The Extension is FREE and open source
  • We do NOT collect or sell your data
  • You are responsible for your own data and passwords

3. REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use CodePass
  • You need Chrome or a Chrome extension-compatible browser
  • For synchronization, you need an active Google account
  • You must comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction

4. LICENSE AND PERMITTED USE

4.1. Use License

  • We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use CodePass
  • You may install the Extension on multiple devices under your control
  • Source code is available under open source license on GitHub

4.2. Permitted Uses

  • Managing your own personal passwords
  • Syncing your data with your Google Drive account
  • Modifying source code (according to open source license)
  • Reporting bugs or suggesting improvements

4.3. Prohibited Uses

  • Using the Extension for illegal activities
  • Attempting to access third-party accounts without authorization
  • Redistributing modified versions for malicious purposes
  • Performing reverse engineering for malicious purposes
  • Using the Extension for spamming or phishing
  • Violating Google or Chrome Web Store terms of service

5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND OBLIGATIONS

  • You are solely responsible for keeping your master password (blockPhrase) secure
  • You must protect access to your Google account
  • You are responsible for backing up your data
  • You must report any security vulnerabilities you discover
  • You must not share your credentials with third parties
  • You must use unique and secure passwords

6. GOOGLE DRIVE SYNCHRONIZATION

  • Google Drive synchronization is OPTIONAL and requires your explicit authorization
  • Your data is stored in your own personal Google Drive account
  • You can revoke Google Drive access anytime from your Google account
  • We do not have access to your files on Google Drive
  • Google Drive is subject to Google's terms of service
  • Synchronization availability depends on Google Drive service

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  • CodePass is owned by AzanoRivers/AzanoLabs
  • Source code is available under open source license (check GitHub)
  • Logos, trademarks, and designs are property of their respective owners
  • You do not acquire any ownership rights over the Extension by using it
  • We respect third-party intellectual property (Google, Chrome, etc.)

8. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER

IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY:

  • THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE"
  • WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE EXTENSION IS ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED
  • WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PASSWORD LOSS IF YOU FORGET YOUR BLOCKPHRASE
  • WE DO NOT GUARANTEE COMPATIBILITY WITH FUTURE CHROME VERSIONS
  • WE DO NOT GUARANTEE CONTINUOUS AVAILABILITY OF GOOGLE DRIVE SERVICE
  • YOU USE THE EXTENSION AT YOUR OWN RISK

We strongly recommend keeping backup copies of your passwords in a secure place.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
  • WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA, PASSWORD, OR ACCESS LOSS
  • WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNTS
  • OUR MAXIMUM LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE EXTENSION (USD $0.00)
  • We are not responsible for problems caused by third-party services (Google, Chrome)

10. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

  • Your data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy
  • We do NOT sell, share, or transfer your personal data
  • Your passwords remain encrypted and under your exclusive control
  • Only you have access to your data (if you use blockPhrase)
  • We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and Chrome Web Store policies

11. MODIFICATIONS AND UPDATES

11.1. Terms Modifications

  • We may modify these terms at any time
  • Significant changes will be notified by updating the date
  • Continued use of the Extension implies acceptance of new terms

11.2. Extension Updates

  • We may update the Extension for bug fixes, improvements, or new features
  • Updates may be automatic according to Chrome settings
  • We do not guarantee backward compatibility with old versions

12. TERMINATION

  • You can stop using CodePass at any time by uninstalling the Extension
  • We may discontinue the Extension at any time without prior notice
  • Upon uninstall, all local data is automatically deleted
  • Data on your Google Drive remains until you manually delete it
  • Termination does not affect accrued obligations or responsibilities

13. APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION

  • These terms are governed by applicable laws in your jurisdiction
  • Any disputes will be resolved through arbitration or competent courts
  • If any clause is invalid, others remain in effect

14. OPEN SOURCE AND CONTRIBUTIONS

  • CodePass is an open source project available on GitHub
  • You can contribute to the project following our contribution guidelines
  • By contributing, you agree to license your contributions under the same project license
  • We appreciate bug reports and improvement suggestions
